AICC – Italian Association of Corkscrew Collectors

WHAT IS NOW HISTORY: THE ORIGINS TO THE PRESENT DAY
Paolo De Sanctis and Maurizio Fantoni’s letter of 24 October 1988 sought to gather support for the nascent AICC, with the objective of “developing and strengthening the friendship between members, by deepening our understanding of our common interest.”

Sixteen collectors answered the role call, and were invited to the first member’s meeting, held in Milan, on 17 December 1988, at the ‘Taverna della Trisa’ restaurant. Gabrio Bini, Fernando Brecciaroli, Giuseppe Corsiglia, Giuseppe Crippa, Paolo De Sanctis, Maurizio Fantoni, Roberto Gabbani, Hans Hilfiker, Paolo Montecchi, Renato Nicolai e Luitpoldo Ravasini were all present at the meeting. It was decided in that occasion to establish the Italian Association of Corkscrew Collectors. Many Italian periodicals announced the news emphatically.

Our history – The meetings

The Second Members’ Meeting was held in Venezia, at the Restaurant “Noemi”, Saturday, 4 March 1989. Paolo De Sanctis were ordained President and Maurizio Fantoni were ordained Secretary by acclamation . There are 18 of Members. The venetian member Pier Luigi Beggiato provided for the hospitality.

Statute of the Italian Association of Corkscrew Collectors (AICC)

A) GENERAL DISPOSITION

Art. 1
An association is constituted according to art. 36 of the Civil Code, by the name of “ASSOCIAZIONE ITALIANA COLLEZIONISTI CAVATAPPI, AICC” at the address of the Secretary pro-tempore.

Art. 2
The objective of the Association is to develop and strengthen the friendship among members, through a deeper and more thorough understanding of this common collecting interest.
To reach its objective, the association organises and promotes events, initiatives and meetings among members to increase their exchange of information, the study and research related to the merit of corkscrew collecting, and of collecting related instruments.
